DEPRESSION

Ever felt depressed? Come to think about it, depression comes in our mind only. Overthinking leads to depression and depression leads to suicide.
Some people attempt suicide  or do drugs because they think too much, they think that they're not enough or they think that their lives are worthless. Some people also do that because of their problems in life, they wanted to escape the problem, and what leads them to escape? Overthinking. God will not give us problems we cannot overcome, if you have a problem just pray because it is a challenge for you. Well, that's for me.

I've search about depression and some people said that it is a mental disorder or it is a mood disorder. Some also said that A depressive disorder is not a passing blue mood but rather persistent feelings of sadness and worthlessness and a lack of desire to engage in formerly pleasurable activities. It is also a common but serious mood disorder. It causes severe symptoms that affect how you feel, think, and handle daily activities, such as sleeping, eating, or working.

Signs and Symptoms

If you have been experiencing some of the following signs and symptoms most of the day, nearly every day, for at least two weeks, you may be suffering from depression:

  • Persistent sad, anxious, or “empty” mood

  • Feelings of hopelessness, or pessimism

  • Irritability

  • Feelings of guilt, worthlessness, or helplessness

  • Loss of interest or pleasure in hobbies and activities

  • Decreased energy or fatigue

  • Moving or talking more slowly

  • Feeling restless or having trouble sitting still

  • Difficulty concentrating, remembering, or making decisions

  • Difficulty sleeping, early-morning awakening, or oversleeping

  • Appetite and/or weight changes

  • Thoughts of death or suicide, or suicide attempts

  • Aches or pains, headaches, cramps, or digestive problems without a clear physical cause and/or that do not ease even with treatment

Treatment and Therapies

Depression, even the most severe cases, can be treated. The earlier that treatment can begin, the more effective it is. Depression is usually treated with medications, psychotherapy, or a combination of the two. If these treatments do not reduce symptoms, electroconvulsive therapy (ECT) and other brain stimulation therapies may be options to explore. But as for me, prayer is the best treatment for this. Open your thoughts to God because he is the only one who can comfort you if you feel all alone, He is God. He knows that you are going through pain right now, but he wants you to reach out to Him and call unto him.

Okay so here are some good things for you to escape or treat depression

  • Try to be active and exercise.

  • Set realistic goals for yourself.

  • Try to spend time with other people and confide in a trusted friend or relative.

  • Try not to isolate yourself, and let others help you.

  • Expect your mood to improve gradually, not immediately.

  • Postpone important decisions, such as getting married or divorced, or changing jobs until you feel better. Discuss decisions with others who know you well and have a more objective view of your situation.

  • Continue to educate yourself about depression.

So why did I blog about depression?

I blogged about this because I've experienced such thing. This is my way to escape depression and it is very effective. Just keep yourself busy and don't think too much. Your thoughts could kill you, you know.
